submit a New sighting

Let us know about sightings of nonnative/invasive species on an island, stowaways on vessels, or species of concern at a mainland departure point

Please use iNaturalist as a primary reporting location. This will allow your sighting to be included in a large database that is used by scientists, researchers, museum curators, etc., that are pertinent to the Channel Islands along with those who are not.

If you would also like to complete the form below, your sighting will be sent to the Channel Islands Biosecurity Manager and you may be contacted for follow-up information.

Trail cameras

In addition to direct observations, trail cameras are used to detect invasive species incursions before an invasion becomes too widespread. Although no new invasive species have been detected, the camera shots below provide interesting photos of native wildlife.
